At 16 years old, Melbourne singer JACOTÉNE won the triple j Unearthed High competition in 2022 with her song "I Need Therapy." The two minute track – which was inspired after experiencing a brutal math class – presents the Australian act's raw, commanding vocals that channel early Adele and Amy Winehouse. Management, agency, and label deals soon followed, and the performer sold out her debut headline show at Sydney Opera House.

This year proved to be momentous for the 17 year-old's career as she went on to open for musicians Tems & G Flip on their respective tours. Citing musical influences like Billie Eilish, Rihanna, Yebba & Tina Turner, it makes sense why JACOTÉNE has catapulted into the spotlight. Her undeniable talent and hauntingly beautiful vocal performances are nothing short of extraordinary. As host of triple j Mornings Lucy Smith explained to JACOTÉNE, "You have one of those voices that's so full of character, like you've lived a thousand lives before the age of 16."

JACOTÉNE continues to treat her fans to soulful ballads, having just released a track this month called "Don't Let Him Say Goodbye - Demo." 2024 will see the Melbourne powerhouse release more music and play more live shows. The songstress has been featured on playlists like Next Gen Singer-Songwriters, Front Left, Rarities & more.
