Keeping digital strategy at the forefront of their approach to developing independent artists’ careers, R&R Digital boasts a tasteful roster of talented songwriters, producers, and musicians with potential to grow. Based in Los Angeles, the record label was founded by Mason Klein, Ben Persky & Will Perliter in 2016. Both Klein and Persky got their start in management back in 2010, working with their childhood friend RL Grime. Mixed Management, the duo’s own company, went on to sign acts like Tobias Jesso Jr. and Baauer, the former having co-written for John Legend, Charlie Puth, Florence + The Machine, and the latter being the act behind the viral sensation “Harlem Shake.” It’s clear Klein and Persky had their finger on the pulse, especially as their business related to the ever-growing potential of the Internet.

In fact, this relationship with social media’s ability to connect and an artist’s career is one of the core values of the record label. On R&R’s page, one can see they “focus on the Internet. We focus on development, brand building, and artists introduction, and have successfully launched many first-release artists into orbit.” Offering a digital approach sets R&R apart from traditional boutique record labels. As a result, R&R Digital was launched in partnership with Warner Records in 2019. The label’s first joint signings were Maryland singer-songwriter Dijon and Los Angeles native pop act wens. Having launched acts like Sorcha Richardson and Mt. Joy, and amassing over a quarter billion streams in its first two years, R&R established its unique palate for both successful artists and songwriters.

Now, with Warner’s support, R&R has been able to further propel its roster of talent’s individual brand and release strategies. Compelling acts like Adam Melchor, Internet Girl, & Walkabout dominate the independent space, and have been able to collaborate within the R&R family. Songwriter and producer Ethan Tasch, for example, worked with Adam on his 2020 EP “SUMMER CAMP”, and the label has hosted a number of similar songwriting sessions for its other signees.
