Ziggy Alberts, born in July 1994 on Australia's Sunshine Coast, is an independent singer-songwriter blending folk-pop with coastal vibes, environmental themes, and heartfelt lyrics. Homeschooled until age 13 and initially eyeing dentistry, he picked up guitar at 17, busked the East Coast, and self-released his debut EP Feels Like Home in 2012, co-founding Commonfolk Records soon after. Breakthroughs include 2013's Made of Water, 2014's Land & Sea, the 2016 EP Four Feet in the Forest, and his 2018 ARIA Top 10 album Laps Around the Sun with hits like "Runaway" (Triple Platinum) and "Love Me Now," followed by Searching for Freedom (2021), over 1 billion streams, global tours selling out Royal Albert Hall, and a commitment to creative control without major labels.
