Whitey Morgan and the 78's are an American country band from Flint, Michigan, known for their raw, honky-tonk style rooted in outlaw country traditions. Formed in 2005 originally as Whitey Morgan and the Waycross Georgia Farmboys, the band evolved into its current lineup and gained recognition in the Midwest country scene before signing with Bloodshot Records in 2010. Their self-titled album, recorded at Levon Helm Studios, features gritty, honest songs about drinking, womanizing, and regret, delivered with a classic honky-tonk sound highlighted by steel guitar and acoustic plucking. Whitey Morgan (Eric Allen) leads the band with his distinctive vocals and guitar, supported by a rotating lineup of skilled musicians, and they continue to tour extensively, embodying the spirit of traditional country music with a modern edge.
