Way Dynamic is the indie rock and folk-pop project of Melbourne-based Australian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dylan Young, originally from Ballarat, who blends '70s soft rock influences with bossa nova, Baroque pop, and minimalist arrangements to create hooky, emotionally resonant tracks. Emerging with an early EP What's It All For Now? around 2018, he gained recognition through albums like the sophisticated debut So Familiar (2022), the stripped-back Duck (2024) featuring single "Sports," and the critically acclaimed Massive Shoe (August 2025), praised for its direct energy and tracks such as "Miffed It," "I Was The Dancer," and "People Settle Down." Young, who also drums for acts like Snowy Band and Cool Sounds, has toured with artists including MJ Lenderman and Waxahatchee, performed at venues like Northcote Social Club, and built a reputation for his tape-recorded process that embraces imperfections alongside vivid, reflective lyricism.
