Wallows is an American alternative rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 2011 by childhood friends Dylan Minnette (lead and backing vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards, bass), Braeden Lemasters (lead and backing vocals, lead guitar, bass), and Cole Preston (drums, percussion, guitars, keyboards, backing vocals), initially as The Feaver with bassist Zack Mendenhall (who left in 2017) before adopting the name Wallows. The trio met through the GigMasterz program at Keyboard Galleria Music Center in Southern California and a studio called Join the Band in Van Nuys, releasing early material under names like The Narwhals, including a 2014 EP, prior to their breakout as Wallows with the independent single "Pleaser" in April 2017, which hit number two on Spotify's Global Viral 50 chart. Signing to Atlantic Records in 2018, they debuted with the Spring EP, followed by their full-length album Nothing Happens and viral success with tracks like "Are You Bored Yet?" featuring Clairo, establishing their '80s post-punk and synth-pop-influenced sound through headlining tours and consistent releases.
