Sarah Beth Tomberlin, known mononymously as Tomberlin, is an American contemporary folk musician and singer-songwriter based in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on April 6, 1995, in Jacksonville, Florida, she moved several times during her childhood before settling in Fairfield, Illinois, where her father served as a Baptist preacher. Tomberlin began writing songs in high school and released her debut album, At Weddings, in 2018 through Saddle Creek Records, which received critical acclaim for its emotional depth and sparse instrumentation.
Following this success, she released her second studio album, i don't know who needs to hear this..., in April 2022, further establishing her reputation as a distinctive voice in the indie music scene. Her work often explores themes of solitude and connection, resonating deeply with listeners and earning her opportunities to tour with notable artists like Angel Olsen.
