Timbaland, born Timothy Zachery Mosley on March 10, 1972, in Norfolk, Virginia, is a groundbreaking American record producer, rapper, singer, and songwriter renowned for revolutionizing hip-hop and R&B production with his distinctive, syncopated beats and inventive sound design. Rising to prominence in the mid-1990s, Timbaland made his mainstream breakthrough by producing Aaliyah’s One in a Million and Ginuwine’s Ginuwine...the Bachelor in 1996, followed by Missy Elliott’s debut Supa Dupa Fly in 1997. His innovative style blurred the lines between hip-hop and R&B, making him a highly sought-after producer for top artists such as Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Madonna, and Rihanna. As a solo artist and as part of the duo Timbaland & Magoo, he released several albums, including Tim's Bio (1998) and the platinum-certified Shock Value series, featuring chart-topping singles like "Give It To Me" and "The Way I Are". Timbaland has won four Grammy Awards and founded the influential labels Beat Club and Mosley Music Group, mentoring new talent and shaping pop music trends for over two decades. He is also known for co-creating the popular webcast series Verzuz and remains a pivotal figure in contemporary music production.
