Tim Atlas, a writer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and recording artist, is based in Brooklyn, New York. His early musical influences were diverse, including his father’s singing at church and karaoke, his sister’s 90s and early 2000s R&B, rock music, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, and John Mayer. Atlas played drums in marching and jazz bands, and also had a period performing in metal bands. He earned a degree in Photography and worked in product photography for over a year before deciding to pursue music full-time. After leaving his photography job, Atlas began producing records for other artists in the Bay Area, including the band No Vacation. His music is characterized as indie pop, blending funk R&B elements, and is known for its downtempo R&B, neo-soul, and bedroom pop sound.
