The Naked and Famous is an indie electronic band formed in 2008 in Auckland, New Zealand, by Alisa Xayalith (vocals, keyboards) and Thom Powers (vocals, guitar). Initially a larger group including Aaron Short, Jesse Wood, and David Beadle, the band gained international acclaim with their debut album Passive Me, Aggressive You in 2010, which featured the hit single "Young Blood" that topped New Zealand charts. Their sound blends indie rock with electronic music, characterized by synth-driven melodies and emotional vocals. After relocating to Los Angeles, the core duo continued releasing albums, including In Rolling Waves (2013), Simple Forms (2016), and Recover (2020), maintaining a strong presence in the indie music scene with a reputation for dynamic live performances and a distinctive electronic-pop style.
