The Hives are a Swedish rock band formed in Fagersta in 1993, known for their energetic live performances and distinctive black-and-white attire. The band consists of Howlin' Pelle Almqvist (vocals), Nicholaus Arson (lead guitar), Vigilante Carlstroem (rhythm guitar), Johan "The Johan and Only" Gustavsson (bass, since 2013), and Chris Dangerous (drums). They gained international recognition in the early 2000s during the garage rock revival with albums like Veni Vidi Vicious (2000) and Tyrannosaurus Hives (2004). The band is also famous for their fictional songwriter, Randy Fitzsimmons, a character often attributed to Nicholaus Arson. Their music blends elements of punk, garage rock, and new wave, making them one of the most acclaimed live rock bands of the past two decades.
