The Beths are an indie rock band from Auckland, New Zealand, consisting of vocalist and guitarist Elizabeth Stokes, guitarist Jonathan Pearce, bassist Benjamin Sinclair, and drummer Tristan Deck. The core members met while studying jazz at the University of Auckland, with roots dating back to high school friendships. They gained international acclaim with their 2018 debut album Future Me Hates Me, praised for its energetic guitar-pop sound and sharp, relatable lyrics. The band won multiple awards in New Zealand and toured extensively, supporting acts like Pixies and Death Cab for Cutie, while playing major festivals worldwide.
