Static Dress is a British post-hardcore band from Leeds, England, formed in 2018 by vocalist Olli Appleyard, drummer Sam Kay, bassist Connor Reilly, and guitarist Tom Black, all of whom were previously part of the band Galleries. The current lineup includes Olli Appleyard on vocals, drummer Sam Ogden, bassist George Holding, guitarist Vincent Weight, and an anonymous masked guitarist known as Contrast. Known for their eclectic sound blending post-hardcore, metalcore, screamo, emo, and elements of electronic and alternative rock, they have released one full-length album, Rouge Carpet Disaster (2022), several EPs, and standalone singles. The band gained recognition as part of the 2020s scene metalcore and post-hardcore revival, signed to Roadrunner Records in 2023, and are noted for their intense and atmospheric music style.
