Skylar Grey, born Holly Brook Hafermann on February 23, 1986, in Mazomanie, Wisconsin, is an American singer, songwriter, and producer renowned for her emotive vocals and collaborations on massive hip-hop and pop hits. She began as Holly Brook, signing with Machine Shop Recordings at 17 and releasing her debut album Like Blood Like Honey in 2006, before rebranding in 2010 and co-writing Eminem and Rihanna's global No. 1 "Love the Way You Lie," which earned a Grammy nomination, followed by features on Dr. Dre's "I Need a Doctor," Diddy-Dirty Money's "Coming Home," and Macklemore's "Glorious," amassing over 25 million singles sold worldwide. With five Grammy nods across her career, Grey has released albums like Don't Look Down (2013), Natural Causes (2016), and the self-titled Skylar Grey (2022), plus writing for artists including Beyoncé, Celine Dion, and Pink, while contributing to soundtracks for films such as Suicide Squad and Aquaman.
