Saves the Day is an American rock band formed in 1997 in Princeton, New Jersey, originally under the name Sefler. Founded by lead vocalist and guitarist Chris Conley, the band quickly became influential in the emo and pop-punk scenes. Their debut album, Can't Slow Down (1998), was followed by Through Being Cool (1999), which solidified their presence with a melodic emo sound. They achieved mainstream success with Stay What You Are (2001), featuring hit singles like "At Your Funeral" and "Freakish." Over the years, Saves the Day has undergone numerous lineup changes, with Conley as the sole consistent member. The band's style evolved across albums, incorporating more rock and indie elements, and they remain respected as pioneers in their genre.
