Ryan Hurd, born Ryan James Hurd on November 2, 1986, in Chicago, Illinois, is an American country music singer and songwriter. He grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and later moved to Nashville, where he began his music career. Hurd gained recognition as a songwriter, penning number one hits for prominent artists such as Blake Shelton, Lady A, and Luke Bryan. His debut single, "Love in a Bar," was released in 2017, followed by his self-titled EP in 2017 and subsequent projects like Platonic (2020) and Pelago (2021). The latter featured the successful duet "Chasing After You" with his wife, Maren Morris, which became his first top 10 hit on the country charts. Known for his reflective lyrics and melodic sound, Hurd has established himself as a significant figure in contemporary country music while balancing his roles as both an artist and a songwriter. He continues to evolve his musical style and connect with audiences through heartfelt storytelling.
