Royel Otis is an Australian guitar-pop duo formed in 2019 by Royel Maddell and Otis Pavlovic in Sydney. The band, whose name combines the founders' first names, released three EPs before dropping their debut studio album "Pratts & Pain" in February 2024. Their breakthrough came with the EP "Sofa Kings" in March 2023, which peaked at number 43 on the ARIA Charts, and their song "Going Kokomo" was featured in the EA Sports FC 24 soundtrack. In 2024, the band won the Breakthrough Independent Artist of the Year at the AIR Awards and received nominations for the APRA Awards and Rolling Stone Australia Awards. Known for their distinctive guitar-driven sound, Royel Otis has quickly become a notable act in the Australian indie music scene, garnering critical acclaim and a growing fanbase.
