Princess Nokia, born Destiny Nicole Frasqueri on June 14, 1992, in New York City, is a multifaceted artist known for her genre-defying music that blends elements of hip-hop, punk, and R&B. Growing up in a culturally rich environment, she was influenced by various subcultures and musical styles, from '90s R&B to the vibrant NYC ballroom scene. Initially performing under the name Wavy Spice, she adopted the moniker Princess Nokia around 2013 and quickly gained recognition for her powerful lyrics that address themes of race, gender, and identity. Her breakthrough mixtape, 1992, released in 2016, drew on her personal experiences and nostalgia, while subsequent projects like Everything Sucks and Everything Is Beautiful showcased her versatility by exploring contrasting emotions and styles simultaneously. Known for her dynamic performances and strong feminist messages, Princess Nokia has established herself as a voice for empowerment and self-love in contemporary music. With a growing discography and a commitment to pushing artistic boundaries, she continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
