Pool Kids is an American math rock and emo band from Tallahassee, Florida, formed in 2017 by guitarist and vocalist Christine Goodwyne and drummer Caden Clinton. Initially a duo, they wrote their 2018 debut album Music to Practice Safe Sex To before expanding to a four-piece with guitarist Andy Anaya and bassist Nicolette Alvarez. Known for their intricate guitar work, emotive lyrics, and a blend of pop, emo, and math rock elements, Pool Kids gained wider recognition after Paramore’s Hayley Williams praised their debut album. Their self-titled second album released in 2022 received critical acclaim, and their third album Easier Said Than Done (2025) showcases their growth with a dynamic, emotionally clear sound. Despite members living in different cities, Pool Kids maintain a strong DIY ethic and community-focused approach, touring internationally and sharing stages with bands like La Dispute and The Mountain Goats.
