PeelingFlesh is an American death metal band formed in 2021 in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma, known for their distinctive blend of slamming brutal death metal, hardcore, and hip-hop influences—a style they dub "Slamming Gangster Groove". Their music is characterized by heavy, groove-laden slams, guttural vocals, and frequent use of samples from hip-hop and Blaxploitation films, resulting in a sound that is both primal and fun, often invoking themes of gore, violence, and street culture. The band quickly gained attention for their energetic live shows and prolific output, releasing several EPs and splits before dropping their debut full-length album, The G Code, in September 2024. The current lineup features Damonteal Harris (vocals), Jason Parrish (guitar), Mychal Soto (guitar), Austin Hirom (bass), and Joe Pelletier (drums). PeelingFlesh's approach, which merges the aggression of slam with the swagger of hip-hop, has earned them a cult following and spots on major tours alongside acts like Whitechapel and Revocation.
