Odeal, born Hillary Dennis Udanoh on December 15, 1999, in Germany to Nigerian parents, is a German-Nigerian singer-songwriter and rapper raised across Spain, the UK, and Nigeria, blending R&B, Afrobeats, and alté into a soulful, versatile sound shaped by early influences like James Brown, Fela Kuti, Burna Boy, and Wizkid. He began recording covers on YouTube in 2014, debuted with the 2017 EP New Time via his own OVMBR collective, and later signed with Warner Music UK for projects like OVMBR: Roses (2020) and OVMBR: Hits No Mrs (2021), before going independent with hits such as "Coffee (Don't Read Signs)" (2022) and the viral TikTok smash "Soh-Soh" from the 2024 EP Sunday at Zuri, which peaked at No. 3 on the UK Afrobeats Chart, No. 12 on Billboard's U.S. Afrobeats Songs, and No. 42 in Nigeria. Named Billboard's African Rookie of the Year in September 2025 and now signed to LVRN, his nomadic upbringing and studio experiments—from boarding school beats in Nigeria to London’s Afroswing scene—fuel his genre-bridging career marked by resilience after a serious illness in 2017.
