Muse is an English rock band formed in Teignmouth, Devon, in 1994, consisting of Matthew Bellamy (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards), Chris Wolstenholme (bass, backing vocals), and Dominic Howard (drums). Initially playing under names like Rocket Baby Dolls, they adopted the name Muse in 1997. The band is known for its blend of alternative rock and progressive rock, often incorporating classical influences, electronic elements, and powerful, fast-tempo melodies into their sound. Since their 1999 debut album Showbiz, Muse has achieved significant international success, with seven consecutive UK number-one albums, including Absolution (2003) and Black Holes and Revelations (2006). They are recognized for their energetic live performances and have sold over 30 million albums worldwide, earning numerous accolades such as two Grammy Awards and two Brit Awards.
