Michigander, the stage name of Jason Singer, is an indie rock musician from Kalamazoo, Michigan. Since 2014, Michigander has evolved from a solo project to a band with additional members, including Aaron Senor on drums and backing vocals, Jake LeMond on lead guitar and backing vocals, and Connor Robertson on bass guitar and backing vocals. Michigander's music journey began with playing house shows and gradually moved to larger stages, including Lollapalooza in 2021 and Austin City Limits in 2023.
They have released several EPs, including "Everything Will Be Ok Eventually" in 2021 and "It Will Never Be The Same" in 2023. Michigander's sound is characterized as alternative/indie, and they have been praised for their engaging live performances and relatable lyrics. In 2023, Michigander faced significant personal challenges, including a serious accident while filming a music video and a traumatic accident involving his wife. Despite these setbacks, they continue to make music and inspire fans. Michigander is set to release their debut full-length album in 2024.
