Marina Lambrini Diamandis, known mononymously as Marina and formerly as Marina and the Diamonds, is a Welsh singer-songwriter born on October 10, 1985. She rose to fame after placing second in the BBC Sound of 2010 poll. Marina's debut album, The Family Jewels (2010), showcased her indie pop and new wave style and reached number five on the UK Albums Chart.
Her follow-up, Electra Heart (2012), a concept album exploring electropop and dance-pop, became her first UK number one album. Subsequent albums like Froot (2015) and Love + Fear (2019) continued her success, with Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land (2021) further solidifying her place in the music industry.
