Marcus King is an American blues-rock singer, guitarist, and songwriter born March 11, 1996, in Greenville, South Carolina, from a musical family—his father Marvin a blues guitarist and grandfather a regional performer—beginning guitar at age three and professional gigs by 11. He founded The Marcus King Band in 2013, releasing albums like Soul Insight (2015), self-titled (2016, No. 2 Billboard Blues), and Carolina Confessions (2018, produced by Dave Cobb), before launching solo with Dan Auerbach-produced El Dorado (2020, Grammy-nominated for Best Americana Album), Young Blood (2022), Mood Swings (2024), and Darling Blue (2025). A fourth-generation talent praised for kinetic solos and soulful swagger, he's toured with Chris Stapleton, performed at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Festival and the Grand Ole Opry, headlined his own festival, and drawn acclaim from Rolling Stone and NPR for hits like "The Well" and "Blood on the Tracks."
