Madi Diaz is an American singer-songwriter born on May 14, 1986, in Greenwich, Connecticut, and raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Known for her emotive voice and poignant songwriting, she was home-schooled by her musically inclined parents, with early training in piano and guitar. Diaz gained early exposure in the 2005 documentary "Rock School" and later attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she recorded her debut solo album "Skin and Bone" in 2007. Over her career, she has evolved from rootsy singer-songwriter stylings into more imaginative pop territories while maintaining deep storytelling craft. Madi has been nominated for Grammy Awards for Best Folk Album and Best Americana Performance. Her music is marked by its emotional depth, creative arrangements, and strong live performances, and she has been active in the Nashville music scene, known for collaborating with notable producers and fellow songwriters.
