Lucius is an acclaimed indie pop band formed in 2007 in Brooklyn, New York, founded by lead vocalists Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig, who met while attending Berklee College of Music. The band's music has been praised for its "luscious, luminous, lilting lullabies" and the "charisma and charm" of Wolfe and Laessig's synchronized vocals and stage presence, leading to the release of three well-received studio albums on the Mom + Pop Music label, including their most recent effort "Second Nature" in 2022.
In addition to their own acclaimed work, Wolfe and Laessig have contributed vocals to albums by artists such as Roger Waters, Harry Styles, and Joni Mitchell, while the band has also released music as part of tribute projects, cementing their reputation as an engaging live act with a unique visual persona that has become a key part of their idiosyncratic artistic identity.
