LL COOL J, born James Todd Smith on January 14, 1968, in Bay Shore, Long Island, New York, is a pioneering force in hip-hop and a multifaceted entertainer. Rising to fame in the 1980s with his debut album Radio (1985), he became known for his smooth flow, clever wordplay, and ability to blend hardcore rap with love ballads. LL COOL J's career spans over three decades, during which he released numerous hit albums, including Bigger and Deffer (1987) and Mama Said Knock You Out (1990), earning two Grammy Awards. Beyond music, he has achieved success as an actor, starring in films like Deep Blue Sea and TV shows such as NCIS: Los Angeles. In 2021, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as a cultural icon and trailblazer in both music and entertainment.
