Linkin Park is an American rock band formed in Agoura Hills, California, in 1996, known for their innovative fusion of genres, including nu metal, alternative rock, and electronic music. The band consists of founding members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave Farrell, Joe Hahn, and Rob Bourdon. They achieved international fame with their debut album, Hybrid Theory (2000), which was certified Diamond by the RIAA and remains one of the best-selling albums of all time. Their follow-up album, Meteora (2003), solidified their status in the music industry, topping the Billboard 200 and featuring hits like "Numb" and "Somewhere I Belong." Over the years, Linkin Park has continued to evolve their sound, exploring various musical styles in albums such as Minutes to Midnight (2007), A Thousand Suns (2010), and One More Light (2017). The band's music often addresses complex themes of emotional struggle and societal issues, resonating with a diverse audience. Tragically, the death of lead vocalist Chester Bennington in 2017 marked a significant loss for the band and its fans, but Linkin Park's legacy continues to influence artists across genres, securing their place in rock history. The group recently announced the band's new vocalist will be Emily Armstrong.
