Lil Nas X, born Montero Lamar Hill on April 9, 1999, in Lithia Springs, Georgia, is a groundbreaking American rapper, singer, and songwriter who rose to fame with his country rap single "Old Town Road" in 2019. The song's viral success on TikTok catapulted him to stardom, breaking records by spending 19 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Since then, Lil Nas X has continued to make waves in the music industry with hit singles like "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)" and "Industry Baby," while also becoming a cultural icon as an openly gay artist in the hip-hop and country genres. His debut studio album, "Montero," released in 2021, further solidified his place in pop culture. Throughout his career, Lil Nas X has amassed numerous accolades, including two Grammy Awards, five Billboard Music Awards, five MTV Video Music Awards, and the distinction of being the youngest honoree of the Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
