Liam Payne, born on August 29, 1993, in Wolverhampton, England, is an English singer and songwriter who first gained fame as a member of the globally successful boy band One Direction. He initially auditioned for The X Factor in 2008 and returned in 2010, where he was grouped with four other contestants to form One Direction. The band became one of the best-selling boy bands of all time before going on hiatus in 2016.
