LA LOM, short for Los Angeles League of Musicians, is an instrumental trio from Los Angeles, California, blending diverse genres such as cumbia, bolero, Peruvian chicha, and 50s-60s soul ballads to create a uniquely SoCal sound. Formed in 2019 by guitarist Zac Sokolow, bassist Jake Faulkner, and percussionist Nicholas Baker, the band initially performed in the lobby of the historic Roosevelt Hotel before expanding to bars and nightclubs across the city. Their music reflects the cultural richness of Los Angeles, often naming tracks after local landmarks like "Figueroa" and "Alvarado." With influences ranging from Smokey Robinson to Los Mirlos, LA LOM’s nostalgic yet genre-transcending style has earned them recognition from artists like Beck and Vampire Weekend, as well as a growing international audience.
