Khatumu signed with Leigh Millhauser & Sara Bollwinkel of Wasserman Music for touring.
Khatumu is managed by Middle Child Management & released by Bright Antenna Records.
Khatumu is a Los Angeles-based indie folk artist and songwriter who began her music career unexpectedly during the COVID-19 pandemic, having had no formal musical background or training prior to college. Originally from New York and a 2024 Yale graduate, she discovered her passion for music production and songwriting while in quarantine, eventually joining the folk group Tangled Up In Blue after being recruited by a fellow student who overheard her singing through a dorm wall. Khatumu’s sound, which she describes as "electrified folk music," is rooted in storytelling and real-life experiences, often crafted on acoustic guitar before being layered with her production skills. After releasing several singles and building a following in New York, she relocated to LA to further pursue her music career, signing with Bright Antenna Records and continuing to release new music and perform live shows, including a recent Midwest tour. Drawing inspiration from artists like Tyler Childers, Bon Iver, and Humble the Great, Khatumu’s music resonates with listeners for its authenticity and narrative depth, aiming to offer clarity and connection through her songs.
