Key Glock, born Markeyvius LaShun Cathey on August 3, 1997, in South Memphis, Tennessee, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Raised primarily by his grandmother and aunt due to his mother's incarceration, he found music as a key outlet. His early influences include Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, and Three 6 Mafia. Glock began his music career in 2016 with his mixtape "Whole Lotta Errthang" and rose to prominence after being signed by his late cousin, Memphis rapper Young Dolph, to the Paper Route Empire label. He released successful albums like "Yellow Tape" (2020) and "Yellow Tape 2" (2021), known for hits like "Ambition for Cash" and the tribute single "Proud" following Young Dolph's death. His latest releases include the album "Glockoma 2" (2023) and "Glockaveli" (2025), marking a major-label debut with Republic Records.
