Kenya Grace, born Kenya Grace Johnson on May 9, 1998, in South Africa and raised in Southampton, England, is a British singer, songwriter, and record producer known for her self-taught blend of drum and bass, pop, and electronic music. After studying songwriting at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford—where she overcame stage fright—she debuted in 2019 with singles like "Obsessed" and "Tell Me Why," followed by "Talk" during the COVID-19 lockdown. Her 2023 bedroom-produced track "Strangers" exploded via TikTok, topping the UK Singles Chart and making her the first British female artist since 2014 to debut at No. 1 with a solo-written, performed, and produced song, alongside acts like Kate Bush.
