Kat Luna, formerly one half of the country-Latin duo Kat & Alex, is embarking on a solo career after the duo split in July 2023. A first-generation Cuban-American from Miami, she grew up singing in church. Kat met Alex Garrido at church, which led to a musical collaboration. Together, they auditioned on American Idol in 2020 and gained attention for performing Spanish versions of popular country songs on social media. This exposure led them to Nashville, where they pursued a music career as a duo. As Kat & Alex, they signed with Sony Music Nashville and WME and made their Grand Ole Opry debut in 2021.
