Jessica Simpson, born Jessica Ann Simpson on July 10, 1980, in Abilene, Texas, is an American singer, actress, and fashion designer who rose to fame as a pop artist after performing in church choirs as a child and signing with Columbia Records in 1997 at age 17. Her debut album Sweet Kisses (1999) went double platinum, propelled by the top-three Billboard Hot 100 hit "I Wanna Love You Forever," followed by Irresistible (2001) and her quadruple-platinum breakthrough In This Skin (2003), which featured her songwriting debut and singles like "Sweetest Sin," alongside reality TV stardom on MTV's Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica with then-husband Nick Lachey. She later ventured into country music with Do You Know (2008), acted in films like The Dukes of Hazzard (2005), and built a billion-dollar fashion empire, achieving seven Billboard Top 40 hits across pop, dance, R&B, and country genres while earning multi-platinum certifications.
