Jeshi, whose real name is Jesse Greenway, is a London-based singer, rapper, and musician known for his distinct blend of UK alternative hip hop, grime, and socially conscious storytelling. Born and raised in Walthamstow, East London, Jeshi draws heavily on his working-class background and personal experiences to craft lyrics that highlight issues like austerity, disenfranchisement, youth struggles, and mental health. He began making grime music in the late 2000s using DIY methods, releasing his first EP, Pussy Palace, in 2016 and his acclaimed debut studio album, Universal Credit, in 2022. His music is characterized by raw honesty, poignant social commentary, and a fusion of experimental beats with emotional depth. Jeshi has also been recognized for powerful visuals, with his video for "3210" winning Best Independent Video at the AIM Independent Music Awards in 2022. He remains an influential and authentic voice in contemporary UK hip hop and alternative music scenes.
