James Andrew Arthur, born on March 2, 1988, in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England, is a celebrated British singer and songwriter who gained fame by winning the ninth series of The X Factor UK in 2012. His winner's single, a cover of Shontelle's "Impossible," became the most successful winner's single in the show's history, topping UK charts and selling over 2.5 million copies worldwide. He released his self-titled debut album in 2013, which featured popular songs like "You're Nobody 'til Somebody Loves You" and collaborations with artists such as Emeli Sandé. Despite some controversies early in his career, James made a strong comeback with his second album "Back from the Edge" in 2016, highlighted by the hit single "Say You Won't Let Go," which reached number one in the UK and became a global success.
