J Hus signs with Concord

J Hus, born Momodou Lamin Jallow on October 26, 1996, in Stratford, London, is a British rapper and singer known for pioneering the music genre Afroswing, which blends African sounds with rap and dancehall. He began his career in 2014 by releasing freestyles online and gained recognition in 2015 with his song "Dem Boy Paigon." His debut album Common Sense (2017) was critically acclaimed and reached number six on the UK Albums Chart. After a legal setback in 2018, he released his second album, Big Conspiracy (2020), which topped the UK Albums Chart and featured collaborations with artists like Burna Boy and Koffee. In 2023, J Hus released the single "Who Told You" with Drake, which became his highest-charting single, leading up to his third album Beautiful and Brutal Yard, which also debuted at number one in the UK.
