Hamzaa, born Cassandra-Malika Hamza in Dalston, Hackney, London, is a British-Kenyan singer-songwriter known for her soulful R&B and emotionally vulnerable lyrics. Raised in East London, she developed a passion for music early on, learning piano and writing songs from the age of nine. Hamzaa's mother supported her artistic interests by enrolling her in performing arts and stage schools. She gained critical acclaim with her debut EP "First Signs of Me," featuring deeply personal themes such as mental health and self-love. Her powerful voice and authentic songwriting have earned comparisons to early Adele and endorsements from notable artists like Stormzy and Jorja Smith. Beyond music, she advocates for mental health awareness and diversity in the arts.
