Goldie Boutilier, born Kristin Kathleen Boutilier on July 31, 1985, in Reserve Mines, Nova Scotia, Canada, is a versatile Canadian singer-songwriter, model, and DJ known for her cinematic music style that explores themes of tragic romance, glamour, and melancholia. She began her music career early, performing with her local choir, and moved to Los Angeles at age 20 where she was discovered by Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic. Initially performing under the name My Name Is Kay (later just Kay), she signed with Interscope Records and released her debut EP in 2011, followed by her album in 2013, blending pop and electronic influences. After parting ways with her label in 2015, she relocated to Paris, reinvented herself as Goldilox, and pursued DJing and modeling. Since 2020, as Goldie Boutilier, she has embraced a sound rooted in alt-country and 1950s-60s Americana, releasing acclaimed EPs such as Cowboy Gangster Politician and Emerald Year, which reflect her Cape Breton roots and experiences in Hollywood. She has also modeled for top brands and been praised for her artistic evolution and authentic storytelling.
