Folk Bitch Trio is a Melbourne/Naarm-based band comprised of Gracie Sinclair (she/her), Jeanie Pilkington (she/her), and Heide Peverelle (they/them), known for their rich, three-part harmonies and confessional songwriting that blend traditional folk forms with a modern, fearless edge. Formed five years ago out of a shared love for songwriting, their music is marked by honest storytelling, humor, and a willingness to subvert genre expectations, resulting in a sound that is both lively and emotionally resonant. The trio has captivated audiences at major festivals like WOMAD and Port Fairy Folk Festival, and supported artists such as Alex G, Julia Jacklin, and Courtney Barnett, while earning praise for songs that ring with emotional truth and arrangements that are both sensitive and playful. Recently signed to Jagjaguwar, Folk Bitch Trio continues to evolve, with a debut album in the works following breakthrough singles like “God’s a Different Sword” and “The Actor,” cementing their reputation as one of Australia’s most compelling new folk acts
