Flatland Cavalry is a country and Americana band from Lubbock, Texas, formed in 2012 by Cleto Cordero and Jason Albers, who started playing music together while attending Midland College. The band later expanded to include Jonathan Saenz, Reid Dillon, and Wesley Hall, who joined as a fiddle player in 2018, replacing Laura Jane. Known for their heartfelt lyrics and energetic performances, Flatland Cavalry blends traditional country with a modern Americana sound. They gained acclaim with their 2016 debut album, "Humble Folks," which charted on Billboard's Americana/Folk and Top Country Albums charts, and their follow-up "Homeland Insecurity" further cemented their reputation. Frontman Cleto Cordero is noted for his clever songwriting, and the band maintains a strong connection to their Texas roots while engaging a growing fan base with dynamic live shows and authentic storytelling.
