EJAE, born Kim Eun-jae on December 6, 1991, is a Korean-American singer-songwriter and record producer known for her extensive work in the K-pop industry. Originally from Seoul, South Korea, she was a trainee at SM Entertainment for 10 years, training alongside notable artists but never debuting as a K-pop idol. She studied music production and psychology at New York University and eventually shifted her focus to songwriting and producing. EJAE has contributed to hit songs for major K-pop groups such as Red Velvet ("Psycho"), TWICE, aespa, LE SSERAFIM, and NMIXX. She gained international recognition for providing the singing voice of the character Rumi in the popular Netflix film "KPop Demon Hunters" (2025), co-writing and performing songs including the chart-topping track "Golden." EJAE is also the music producer for the project group TODAYA and is based in Brooklyn, New York.
