Dune Rats are a Brisbane-based Australian rock band renowned for their infectious blend of surf punk, garage rock, and pop punk, channeling a carefree, party-loving spirit that has become a hallmark of their sound and image. The group was originally formed as a duo in 2010 by Danny Beus (guitar, vocals) and BC Michaels (drums, backing vocals), later expanding to a trio with the addition of Brett Jansch (bass), formerly of Bleeding Knees Club. With a reputation for raucous live shows and irreverent, good-time anthems, Dune Rats have become a mainstay of Australian music culture, celebrated for soundtracking the wild years of youth and embracing a “no kooks, no gutties” ethos that welcomes all kinds of fans. Their discography includes several EPs and five studio albums, highlighted by the chart-topping The Kids Will Know It's Bullshit and their latest release, If It Sucks, Turn It Up (2024). Over more than a decade, Dune Rats have built a loyal following both at home and internationally, thanks to their unfiltered approach, energetic performances, and a knack for crafting punchy, melodic punk songs that capture the spirit of reckless fun.
