Du Blonde, the musical project of Beth Jeans Houghton, is a multi-talented English artist known for their raw, genre-blending sound and fearless approach to music and identity. Born on January 3, 1990, in Newcastle upon Tyne, Houghton initially gained recognition under their birth name before reinventing themselves as Du Blonde in 2014. Their music spans indie rock, punk, blues, and garage rock, characterized by powerful vocals and honest, often introspective lyrics. Du Blonde has released several acclaimed albums, including "Welcome Back to Milk" (2015), "Lung Bread for Daddy" (2019), and "Homecoming" (2021), the latter of which they self-produced.
Beyond music, Houghton is also an accomplished visual artist, animator, and video director. In 2019, Du Blonde came out as non-binary and transgender, using she/her pronouns while identifying predominantly as male. Their openness about mental health, including experiences with Tourette's Syndrome, has contributed to important discussions within the music industry.
