Disturbed is an American heavy metal band formed in 1994 in Chicago, Illinois. The band consists of lead vocalist David Draiman, guitarist Dan Donegan, bassist John Moyer, and drummer Mike Wengren. Initially known as Brawl, they changed their name to Disturbed after Draiman joined in 1996. They gained widespread recognition with their debut album, The Sickness, released in 2000, which featured hit singles like "Down with the Sickness" and "Stupify." Over the years, Disturbed has released several successful albums, all of which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, including Believe (2002), Ten Thousand Fists (2005), and Indestructible (2008). Their music is characterized by a blend of heavy metal and alternative rock, often incorporating melodic elements that set them apart from other bands in the genre. After a hiatus from 2011 to 2015, they returned with the album Immortalized, which included their acclaimed cover of "The Sound of Silence." Disturbed continues to be a significant force in the rock and metal scenes, known for their powerful performances and thought-provoking lyrics that address various themes, including personal struggles and societal issues.
