Omar Banos, known professionally as Cuco, is an American singer-songwriter and record producer from Hawthorne, California. Born on June 26, 1998, Cuco gained significant attention after releasing his single "Lo Que Siento" in 2017, which has garnered over 191 million streams on Spotify. He self-released his first two EPs, "Wannabewithu" (2016) and "Songs4u" (2017), after graduating from Hawthorne High School.
Cuco's music is characterized by its earnest Spanglish love lyrics and a deep-meme millennial sense of humor, creating a unique persona that has earned him heartthrob status among Chicano teenagers. He has used his platform to advocate for immigrants' rights and has headlined benefit concerts such as "Solidarity for Sanctuary" to support undocumented immigrants.
