Cordae (born Cordae Amari Dunston on August 26, 1997) is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter acclaimed for his lyrical prowess and thoughtful storytelling. He first gained recognition by releasing creative remixes of popular tracks, such as Eminem’s “My Name Is” and J. Cole’s “1985,” which quickly garnered attention from both mainstream media and the online rap community. Cordae was a member of the YBN collective from 2018 until its disbandment in 2020, after which he dropped the "YBN" from his stage name. His debut album, The Lost Boy (2019), received critical acclaim and earned Grammy nominations for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song (“Bad Idea” featuring Chance the Rapper). Cordae’s follow-up album, From a Birds Eye View (2022), continued to showcase his introspective lyrics and musical versatility, solidifying his reputation as one of hip-hop’s most promising voices.
